The story of the candy is quite obscure, but most accounts indicate Atlantic towns, New Jersey, approximately the late 1800s. It’s said that a tide flooded a confectionery shop owned by Joseph Fralinger, turning his confection soft. Quickly recover his goods, Fralinger reportedly shouted for help, and a nearby man stepped in, pulling the warm swe
